This neo-Renaissance church was raised to the rank of basilica minor and is the capital’s largest, and the country’s second largest church. It has the biggest bells in Hungary.
The single greatest relic in the Basilica, preserved in the Chapel of the Holy Right Hand, is the forearm of King St. Stephen (1000-1038), Hungary's first king, miraculously preserved for 1000 years. The treasury display is remarkable for its wealth, and anyone with a head for heights can get a superb 360-degree panorama of the city from the north tower.
